Dedicated to His Cause
Pastor E. Richard Smith 1980 All of our efforts mean absolutely nothing unless we are dedicated to preaching and teaching the Word of God. We must be telling others about God's plan and His coming kingdom. It is the same message that Jesus preached and taught in his day. It is the same message that he commissioned his church to teach. And it is the same message that still changes hearts and lives for Jesus today. It is our purpose. It is our mission. It is the hope of our calling. It is a matter of dedicated service. Will you dedicate your life to his service until he comes again? Matt. 6:9; 13:3; 16:24; 24:13,14; Ecc. 11:1; Heb. 11; Mark 16:15,16; 2 Tim. 4:1,2; 2 Pet. 1:10,11,5; Luke 22:29; Acts 1:11; 1 Pet. 5:4 Living a Black and White Life in a Gray World
Pastor Rex Cain 1995 The Word of God encourages us to always be about the work of God. Our labor is not in vain. We cannot grow weary in following what it says. It was that way for Daniel. He lived out his convictions despite the risks. He was a man of principles. He saw things in "black and white" and didn't compromise. It was that way for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It was that way for Stephen. It was that way for John the Baptist. It should be the same way for all of us. We are called to live out our convictions - even when we might pay a great price for them. We can't be indifferent. We must totally commit. Will you? 1 Cor. 15:58; Dan. 1:5,8; 6:10,17,20; 3:13-18; Exo. 34; Jer. 6; Luke 9:62; Acts 6; 7:51; Mark 6; Rev. 12:10,11 |

Just Do-er It
Pastor Dan Cain Troy View Church of God Troy, Ohio Too often as Christians, we just go through the motions. We don't really do anything. But in today's message, we are challenged to be doers. We have to listen to the Word, believe the Word, and then do the Word. So how are you "doing?" James 1:19-27; Matt. 13:3-8, 18-23; 7:24-27; Eph. 2:8,9 "Hyper-Nike" - More than Conquerors
Pastor Alan Cain E-mail Alan Lawrenceville Church of God Springfield, Ohio Who we are as children of God is more important than what the world may see. We are even told that we are "more than conquerors" if we're in Christ. And in today's message, we are reminded that there are no "giants" we can't conquer. Even when others may think the enemy is too strong, we, like David, should see our great God - not a great giant. Will you be a "hyper-nike" for our Lord? Rom. 8:31,34; 1 Sam. 17; 16:13; 2 Cor. 10 |

It's David and Me
Pastor Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship 492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC The path of destruction wrought by sin is long and dismal stretching back to the garden of Eden and reaching forward into the present lives of every man, woman and child here today. Even King David was no exception. Even the "man after God's own heart" fell to sin to get what he wanted. And that's always the problem of sin. It always destroys. We have to face how evil it is and realize we're really no different than David. We are David. We are sinners. But we have a Savior if we'll find our way back to him. Will you? 2 Sam. 11; 12:7; Jer. 4:22 The Perfect High Priest
Pastor Terry Ferrell E-mail Terry Greenville Church of God, 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC Jesus is the only person fully in touch with God and man. He brings man's voice to God and God's presence to man. He was tempted in all ways, just like us, but without sin. He understands everything we're going through. He is perfect in his work, his life, and his example. That's what makes him the perfect High Priest. And through Christ, we can approach the throne with confidence. |

The Covenant with David
Pastor Bill Wachtel E-mail Pastor Wachtel In last week's message, we looked at the inheritance promised to and through Abraham. This week, we examine the second man mentioned in the New Testament, King David. Why is he so important? What can the promises made to David and his throne tell us about Jesus? And what does that mean for us? Find out the significance of the covenant made with David in today's study. Focus on the Kingdom: Program 32

How to Keep Your First Love
Pastor Billie Kennedy 1986 How do we leave our "first love?" Is it because we're not laboring for God? Is it because we're not reading the Bible or praying? Is it because we're not witnessing? What's missing? Where has our joy of salvation gone? All too often, we find that when God starts meeting our needs, we forget we have them. But in today's message, Pastor Kennedy reminds us to keep our daily awareness on our need for God. And if we can focus on that, we'll never leave our first love. Rev. 2:2-5; Rev. 3:17; Rom. 8:16; Deut. 8:11-20; Prov. 30:8,9; Mark 12:30; 1 John 2:15; John 15:19; Matt. 24:12; Matt. 7; 1 Pet. 2:2 Living Power in the Church Today
Pastor Z.B. Duncan 1982 There is living power in the Church of the living God, and it's in God's Word. His Word is energizing and transforming. It activates and motivates us. It is a living force. And in today's message, we are reminded that it is with God's Word that He created the world. It is with His Word that Jesus overcame temptation. It is in His Word that we have our living hope. There is living power in His living promises. If God has said it, it will be done. Without it, there is no faith. His Word will abide forever. Will you accept what is written? Will you let His living Word live in you? Heb. 4:12; John 6:63; 16:13; 11:43,44; 17:17; Psa. 33:6,9; 119:105; Gen. 1:3,9; Matt. 8:8; Jer. 14:16; 1 John 2:15; 4:1; 1 Thess. 2:19; 4:15-17; Rev. 1:18; Rom. 10:8,17; James 1:17; 1 Pet. 1:23 |

Is Our Hope Sure?
Pastor Dale Swartz E-mail Dale Litchfield Church of God Litchfield, Minnesota Without Jesus, there is no hope. But if we're not fully convinced, we won't be able to convince anyone else. They have to know we're not a phony. They have to see him in us. As his disciples, we've read the end of the Book. We know how the story ends. We know God's Word is sure. We know our hope is sure. And we know that everything we face today is a part of His plan. And it's worth it. Will you believe? Eph. 2:1-13; 1:4; Acts 24:15; Php. 3:10,20,21; 1 John 3; Isa. 9:6,7; Psa. 139:7-12; Rom. 4:7; Gal. 4:4; Gen. 21:1,2; 2 Tim. 4:7; Heb. 11:37-40 Times of Refreshing

And God has promised complete refreshment when He brings about complete restoration of this earth in the Age to Come. He has planned a "re-genesis" for this planet and His people. Are you looking for it? Are you living for it? Will you be refreshed? Will you refresh others? Acts 3:18-21; 2:32,33; Matt. 19:28; John 7:37-39; Isa. 44:3; 55:1; Jer. 31:25; Phn. 20; Heb. 10:25 |

Gate to Glory
Pastor Kenneth Milne 1988 Most of Christianity believes that our soul departs this earth and travels one way or another immediately at death. But is that what the Bible teaches about resurrection? Is there a reward for the righteous or a punishment for the wicked before Christ returns? Is death the gate to glory? Is death an enemy or a friend? Do we simply wait until we die, or are we waiting for Christ to come? How can we know the truth? Find out the answers from God's Word in today's study. Psa. 146:3,4; 17:15; Luke 14:13,14; Matt. 16:27; Job 19:25-27; John 5:28,29; 7:34; 13:33; Gen. 3:22; 2:7; Ecc. 9:5; Heb. 9:28; 1 Thess. 1:9,10; Rev. 19:6-9 The Coming of Christ
Pastor Vernis Wolfe Recorded at Gatesville Church of God - 1990 The second coming of Christ is the very fabric of our faith. His coming motivates us to know God, understand Him, and live for Him. It has a purifying effect. If we really believe Jesus is coming again, we will change the way we think and act. We will be motivated to tell others about this good news, and we won't be alarmed as we see prophetic fulfillment in the nations happening around us. We will be alert. We will be encouraged. We will see God's hand in history as He prepares the world for the coming of His son. And we know it won't be long. Time is ticking. Time is running out. Time is being fulfilled. Are you ready? Are you living like it? 1 John 3:3; Luke 12:35-39; 21; 2 Peter 3:8 |

Great is Thy Faithfulness
Pastor Terry Ferrell E-mail Terry Greenville Church of God 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC 29605 God is faithful - even when man is faithless. God always keeps his promises. He always provides. He can't lie, and He can't die. His word is sure. But what about us? Can we say the same? Do we always keep our promises? Do we always keep our words? Are we faithful - or faithless? Lamentations 3:22,23; 1:1,2,8,9; Gen. 8:18-22; Acts 17:25; Mal. 3:10; Jer. 3; 23; 1 Tim. 1:17; Titus 1:1-3; Heb. 6:18; 10:24,25 The God of Broken People

The "Umph" Factor
Pastor Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship 492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC When King David brought the Ark of the Lord to the City of David, we are told that he danced "with all his might." But not everyone was happy. When Michal his wife saw him, she was angry. David wasn't humiliated though. He knew his zealous worship was before the Lord his God, and he didn't hold back his celebration. It's a great lesson for us as well. Too often, we are afraid to worship our Heavenly Father with "all our might" because we fear what others might think or say. But everything we do for God needs to be done with "umph." Will you give God your all? Will you honor Him with all you have? 2 Sam. 6:12-23; Rom. 12:11; 1 Cor. 14:40; Matt. 6:1,5 Focus on the Kingdom: Program 30

Living Sacrifices
Pastor Vernis Wolfe Recorded at Gatesville Church of God 1990 In the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul wrote of his concern for all believers to live a renewed life in Christ. He speaks of the ceaseless warfare of sin inside of us all. But he also gives us the formula for transformation. And in today's message, Vernis Wolfe explains Paul's prescription for our predicament as we examine the same text Pastor Wolfe used in his first sermon some 50 years earlier. Rom. 12:1-10; 3:23; 7:15-25; Isa. 6:5; 2 Pet. 1:5-9 The Second Coming of Christ
Pastor Jim Mattison E-mail Jim Recorded at Macomb Church of God 1986 Every day, we are another day closer to the return of Christ. His second coming is the Christian's hope.
