Pastor Mike Montgomery Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Pelzer, SC We all have our fears, but how do we overcome fear and doubt? What causes us to be afraid? If we truly trust in God, why do we focus only the "wind and the waves" in our life? Storms will always come, but we're never alone if we fix our eyes on Jesus. Matthew 14 |

The Open Bible Pulpit: Hosea - 12- Countefeit Hope
Pastor Chuck Jones E-mail Chuck Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California In this series by Pastor Chuck, we're examining the prophecy from the book of Hosea (753 - 722 B.C). Though most of the prophecy was written regarding Israel's future, it's also relevant for our learning today. In today's message, we examine the nature of our hope. "Counterfeit hope" is based on man's limits, but God's hope is far greater. God saves the best for last. So where do you put your hope? Are you being robbed by what this world tells you? Freedom is not Free
Pastor Michael Cisler E-mail Michael North Kent Bible Church Rockford, Michigan We are blessed in America by the many who have sacrificed their lives to give us freedom. We are the recipients of their great sacrifice. But our freedom wasn't free. A great price was paid. As Christians, we have been set free as well. Jesus gave himself to purchase our freedom. Do we live like we're grateful? We Remember, We Hope, We Wait
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God 860 West Oregon Trail Road, Oregon, Illinois Nobody likes to talk or even think about death, but what about the hope promised beyond death? There's lots of ideas about what happens, but there's also a lot of misinformation that isn't taught in the Scriptures. Does death equal an immediate reward? What about the resurrection? When will it be? How will it happen? Does the Bible clearly tell us what happens? Find out in today's message as we examine the hope for believers beyond the grave. 1 Cor. 15; Gen. 2:7; Psa. 146:3,4; 88:5,10-12; 115:17,18; 90:5,12; 118:24; Ecc. 9:5,10; Dan. 12:2; John 11; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Acts 2:29,34; Php. 3; Heb. 11:13,39,40; 10:23; 2 Cor. 6:2 |

School for David
Pastor Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship 492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC Education hasn't changed that much in God's school. It's a small school where few enroll and even fewer graduate. But as we look at David in today's message, we see a man who let God be his teacher. I Dare You!
Pastor Larry Mayberry E-mail Larry Pennellwood Church of God Wyoming, Michigan I dare you. These three, harmless little words can get you into so much trouble. Do you remember any of those high school pranks? Often the person only dared you because they didn't want to do it. It's different with Jesus though. He doesn't dare us. He doesn't ask us to do anything he himself hasn't already done. He didn't deserve to die, but he gave his life. Are you willing to follow him? Are you willing to tell others why you follow him? I dare you! Eph. 1:17; Col. 1:13,14; 20-22; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 5:9,10; Gal. 2:20,21; 1 Pet. 2:20-24; Heb. 10:24-29; Mark 16:15,16; 1 Pet. 3:15 I Thought You Would Call Me Father
Dr. Joe Martin, Atlanta Bible College E-mail Joe Did you know that the God we worship has a name? In fact, in the Bible, His individual, personal name is used almost 7000 times. God tells us exactly who He is. His unique name is important. It's critical that we know it. But why did it go from a proper name to a generic "LORD" or "GOD" when the scriptures were translated? Why aren't we honoring the unchanged name of the Lord our God? Why do we avoid it? Traditions that are wrong are still wrong. Let's start getting it right. Though most of the prophecy was written regarding Israel's future, it's also relevant for our learning today. In today's message, we examine how Israel rejected God's care. In the same way, we can reject and neglect God's love. But how will you respond? What's holding you back? God's Contract
Pastor E. Richard Smith Before anyone builds, they need a blueprint or plan of what they're going to build. And before you build, you make a contract with the builder. In today's message, we look at a blueprint for walking in faith. We're also reminded that any plans we make need to be plans that draw us closer to our God. He has already made a contract with us and to the world. Will you be a part of God's plan for your life? Heb. 9:27,28; 10:37; Isa. 7:14; 9:6; 11:3; Deut. 18:15; 1 Pet. 3:12; Rom. 6:23,4,5; 5:1,2; 12:1,2; 1 John 1:7-9 The Soul Goes Where?
Pastor Rex Cain Sometimes doctrines in church tradition go unexamined, but when we scrutinize the concepts against what the Scriptures have to say, we discover the truth. It's that way in today's study of the "soul." Many teach that man is created with an innate immortality, but is that what the Bible really indicates? Does man have an immortal soul that lives on after he is gone? What really happens after a person dies? And from where did the concept of the immortal soul come? If you do, you know the wonderful blessing it is to be a part of the household of faith. And in today's study in Psalm 122, we find great applications for our lives and our worship as the church. Pastor Alan Cain E-mail Alan Lawrenceville Church of God Springfield, Ohio Who we are as children of God is more important than what the world may see. We are even told that we are "more than conquerors" if we're in Christ. And in today's message, we are reminded that there are no "giants" we can't conquer. Even when others may think the enemy is too strong, we, like David, should see our great God - not a great giant. Will you be a "hyper-nike" for our Lord? Rom. 8:31,34; 1 Sam. 17; 16:13; 2 Cor. 10 |

The Open Bible Pulpit: Hosea - 10 - What About Prosperity?
Pastor Chuck Jones E-mail Chuck Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California In this series by Pastor Chuck, we're examining the prophecy from the book of Hosea (753 - 722 B.C). Though most of the prophecy was written regarding Israel's future, it's also relevant for our learning today. In today's message, we look at two ways: the broad way and the narrow way. The world tells us how we can be prosperous. The world's riches are measured in how many dollars we have, what kind of house we live in, and what we own. But what's the limit? What value is having it all if you "lose your soul?" What's so different about God's prosperity? Focus on the Kingdom: Program 22

"Mother" by F.L. Austin - 5/7/1929
Hannah Had Her Feet on the Ground
Pastor Rex Cain Hannah desperately longed for a child, but she was unable to have any. To make it worse, she was the victim of taunts and humiliation because of it. She wept and mourned greatly. She was miserable and desperate. And though she endured much heartache, Hannah was a spiritual rock. She had both her feet on the ground. She put her faith in God and prayed earnestly to the Lord. She turned her burdens over to Him. She surrendered everything to God, and then she accepted God's will for her life. She put Him first, and then she even gave God her firstborn son. What an example for all of us! What if we all followed her example in our lives and families today? 1 Samuel 1, 2, 3 Mothers of Faith
Pastor E. Richard Smith Nothing is as expressive as the love between a mother and a child, but as Christians, we can all show and share God's love as a spiritual family. We can have a great influence on other "children" in the faith. We can all guide and lead others into the proper way of life. And as we honor the "mothers" of our faith, let us be reminded to live and love in the examples they have shown to us. Psalm 110:1-3; Prov. 22:6; 2 Tim. 1 |

Real Freedom
Pastor Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship 492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC What is real freedom? Do we really understand it? What will we do with it? David was fighting for his freedom as we read in I Samuel 21, and in today's message, we look at his example and note three qualities of a freedom fighter. 1 Samuel 21; Matt. 12:7,12; 23:15; Luke 11:46; 1 Cor. 1:18 Profile of a Faithful Mom
Pastor Michael Brown E-mail Michael Glad Tidings Church of God Fonthill, Ontario, Canada Imagine being a parent and knowing that your child would be killed. In Egypt, this was the case. It took much faith to face the times of tragedy and terror under the Pharaoh. When Moses wrote the book of Exodus, he gave an intriguing account of his birth mother and what he remembers about her. She and her husband went to great lengths to ensure the safety and survival of her son. They knew there was nothing they could do but trust God. And through their act of courage and faith, God would change the course of history. Exo. 2:1-10; Heb. 11:23; Prov. 31; Acts 7:20-21; Philippians 4:13 |

A Virtuous Woman
Pastor Terry M. Ferrell E-mail Terry Greenville Church of God, 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC 29605 Solomon likely knew a lot about having bad women in his life. But in Proverbs 31, we find the description of the "virtuous woman," a model for all godly women. And in today's message, we celebrate and honor Mother's Day by turning to these scriptures. Proverbs 31:10-31 No Time for Silence
Pastor Dick Eldred E-mail Dick Sometimes the Christian life can become the same old routine if you let it, and we can miss the greatest blessing that God has for us. In today's story, we learn that the greatest witness for Christ is not necessarily the one who knows all the Bible, the one who's the greatest teacher, or the best debater, but the person who has come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior with an unquenchable excitement. A man who sat hopelessly day after day found the kind of healing only Jesus can give - and it transformed his life forever. And he couldn't keep silent! What an example for us! Acts 3:1-11 |

In chapter 9 of Hosea, we learn that sometimes it's not just the sin in our lives, it's the attitude we have towards the sin. How can we avoid these steps towards judgment? Leaving your will helps determine how your property will be distributed after you die and to whom. But Christ arose to execute his own will. That is why we have a sure inheritance and a certain assurance of our redemption at Christ's second coming. Our Savior has purchased us through his blood. Discerning God's Will
