Laborers Together with God
The times and the types of people living today are really quite similar to those after the time
of Christ's earthly ministry. There are also many similarities in the city of Corinth to the world in which we live in today. Our value as followers in Christ is in what we are doing for him. Jesus is our foundation, and we build on him. We labor for him, and we all have a function.
So let's all get to working...

Love - The Cushion of Life
The way of love is the best way of life. Love provides a cushion for the bumps of life and a motive for living. Unless we find the way of enduring love, we miss part of God's design for our lives. In today's text, we apply a stethoscope to the heartbeat of the Apostle Paul. Paul is often known for his deep theology, but we also see a portrait of his deep Christian love and affection. It's the gift we all need the most. It's the gift we all need to show the most. It's the gift we all needed the most when God gave us His son. How are you reflecting God's love to the world around you?
1 Cor. 13; 12:31; 1 Thess. 2:7,8; Romans 5:8; 13:10; John 3:16; 13:34,35; 1 John 4:9,10

God's Big Plan
Pastor Michael Cisler E-mail Michael North Kent Bible Church Rockford, Michigan
God made a "very good" world. God's intent in His divine design was that man would live in a "very good" world. But it didn't take long for man to corrupt his plan through sin and disobedience. But God's plan didn't end there. He promises a hope and a future beyond the troubles and frustrations of our present age. It's a plan to restore this decaying world back to the "very good" world he created. But man needed a Savior. God planned on it. Jesus was in His plans. But is this hero in your plans?

Looking for Jesus
Pastor Jeff Fletcher E-mail Jeff Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Pelzer, South Carolina
What would you do in a disaster? What's your plan? What would you do just in case? After man's fall, God provided his children with a "disaster relief plan." He knew we couldn't rescue ourselves, so he provided an escape. And He has also given us warnings of coming disaster. The day is coming just as He has said. Will you be prepared?

Shifting the Load
As we come into Christ, and as we affirm him in faith as our Savior, we have a new power
source to help us deal with the frustrations of daily living. In the Apostle Peter's letter, he
writes to Christians suffering persecution and gives them the recipe for facing life's trials. He
tells them to "cast all of your cares upon him." None of life's problems or anxieties are too
small or too large for him. God hears us. God is listening. God is concerned. God cares.
Joshua 24:15; 1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 55:22; Psalm 34:6-8

Committing to a New Year
Pastor Dave Hixon E-mail Dave Brush Creek Church of God Tipp City, Ohio
It's that time of year again when we decide to make promises about what we're going to do in the next year. We make resolutions about our diet, our health, and even our faith. But it usually doesn't take long before we abandon our decisions. But this year, will you commit to resolutions that will make a real difference in your life?

A New Age
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois
It seems around every new year that there is talk about resolutions, but many never take them very seriously and break them fairly quickly. More importantly, though, is the New Age that's coming when Jesus returns to establish his kingdom on the earth. It is certain, and it's the message he taught. So no matter what this year holds, we know what the future holds. Let's prepare for it, and live with that resolve.

Working While Watching
Throughout the writings of the Bible, there is a continuous call to be watchful. The emphasis of our watching is on the return of Jesus Christ. Some ask why it matters if his return is still afar off, but we must always be alert and on guard to never let the focus of his teaching diminish. We stay continually on duty for our King. So don't get caught napping. Stay awake. Watch for the signs of his coming. Live each day like he will return.

God's Love Knows No Barriers
The Samaritans were despised by the Jews. But not by Jesus. Normally, the Jews would do anything to avoid a Samaritan. But not Jesus. In today's story, Jesus only saw someone in need of salvation. Jesus saw someone who needed a friend, not a critic. And when Jesus initiated the conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus only saw a child who needed a Father's love. It was a lesson to his disciples. It's a lesson to us.
How will we share God's undeserved love to an undeserving world?
John 4:2-42

First-Century Christians: The Many and the Few
Pastor Terry Ferrell E-mail Terry Greenville Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Greenville, South Carolina
The first-century church did not begin with an impressive size or with a large number of followers. Despite the crowds that had followed Jesus during his ministry and witnessed his many miracles, they were only a small and persecuted group of around 120 members. The faith was in the few. These were those that found the "narrow way" that Jesus had taught them about. So what does that mean about the modern church? Do larger numbers mean a larger faith? How do we define success? Is it in the majority and the many or among the faithful few?
Matt. 7:13,14,22,23; 24:10-12; 22:14; Acts 1:15; 15; John 20:19; 6:66; 2 Pet. 2:2; 1 John 2:18; 2 John 7; 1 Cor. 1:26; 1 Peter 3:20; Luke 12:32

Use It or Lose It
Not all of us have the same talents and abilities, but God has something for all of us to do. Every individual is important and essential for the work that God wants done. And when God calls us, he empowers and equips us for His purpose and plan. In today's text from the Parable of the Talents, we listen to Jesus as he challenges each of us into a lifetime of service. And it's up to each of us to be faithful with whatever he has entrusted us with until he returns.
That's our commission. And that's how Christ defines success.
Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19; 24; 25; 5:14; Deuteronomy 33:25; Jeremiah 17:5; Psalm 139

The Voice of Tomorrow: "The Two Purposes of Christ's Coming"
Pastor Dale Swartz E-mail Dale Litchfield Church of God Litchfield, Minnesota
Kingdom Ministries, Inc. is a completely faith-based ministry created to simply and clearly proclaim the message of the Kingdom of God and to share God's love in a practical way. In today's message, we examine the two different messages that were communicated by angels to Joseph and Mary. One message indicated that Jesus would rule and reign as King on a throne that would never end, but the other foretold that Jesus was coming to save his people from their sin. Would the Messiah first have to be a "Suffering Servant?" Find out the answers today.

The Open Bible Pulpit: "Not Far from the Kingdom"
Pastor Chuck Jones E-mail Chuck Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California
In answering a scribe, Jesus told him that he was "not far from the kingdom." But what exactly did he mean? Is it enough to just to know the right answers? Is it enough to know the right path if we don't take it? We come so close, but we still miss out. Is there anything more important in your life than what Christ told us was most important of all? Which way are you going? If you're not that far from the kingdom, are you drawing nearer?

How Great is our God
An antique's value is often related to its individuality, craftsmanship, and detail. Written through the pages of the Bible we find the individuality, craftsmanship, and detail of our Heavenly Father. In the unique words of the one true God, we find a rich love from the One who has individually created each and every person and values us enough to offer a way of salvation through his perfect Son, Jesus. How great is His love! How perfect is His plan! How great is our God!

He Came!
Pastor E. Richard Smith
Throughout the Bible, God had promised His people that a Savior was coming. For centuries, His children waited and anticipated their Messiah. Prophets like Isaiah proclaimed a message of hope to a people in bondage. And then when the timing was just right, Jesus came just as God had spoken through His prophets. Christ was the hope for the world then, and he still is the world's only hope today. And the great joy that was shared at his birth will be even greater at his return. But what if Christ had not come? What if Christ wasn't coming? What if he came today? In this encouraging message from Preacher Smith, we look back at the birth of Christ as we look forward to his second coming.
Isa. 9:1-7; Luke 1,2; Acts 4:10; 3:22; Eph. 2:13; 2 Cor. 2; Deut. 18:15; Col. 2:9; 1:27

The Magi's Message
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois
There always seem to be a lot of questions surrounding the story of the "wisemen" who came to visit Jesus some time after his birth. Who were they exactly? Where did they come from? What was the star that they saw? There are many guesses we can make, but all of the specific details aren't what the story is all about. What's really important is how they responded to God's direction. How about us? How will we respond to the "stars" God shines in our lives? What do we have to bring and give to the Lord? In today's message, Pastor Michael reminds us of some valuable lessons we can learn from the magi's journey.

Why Christ Came and is Coming Again: To Give us a Fabulous, Forever Future
Pastor Stephen Bolhous E-mail Stephen Freedom in Christ Church Welland, Ontario, Canada
Around Christmas, we usually focus primarily on the birth and the first advent of Christ. But in Bible prophecy, the first and second coming of Jesus are linked together. In fact, because of his first coming, we have an assurance of his second coming. And Jesus is coming to complete what began that first Christmas day. He's coming to rule his Father's kingdom on this earth, from this earth, and he wants us to be a part of it. He's bringing the perfect peace in a perfect paradise that was promised in God's perfect plan to the prophets of old. And as his followers, we live expectedly anticipating his return and the fabulous, forever future that awaits us when Christmas is completed.

Good Things Come in Small Packages
Pastor Bruce Reye E-mail Bruce Chapel Hill Church of God Urbana, Ohio
Have you ever had a gift exchange around Christmas? Have you ever noticed that the biggest, fanciest boxes are usually the first ones to get picked and opened? But it's often the smaller packages that are the most precious and valuable. In today's message, we take a look at what appeared to be a very small, insignificant gift that was given to the world when Jesus was born. There was nothing fancy at all about his birth, but through Christ, we have the hope of eternal life when he comes the second time. What more could we want?

The Gifts We Find in the Star
Pastor Rex Cain E-mail Rex Church of the Open Bible Bedford, Ohio
If we let it, the focus of Christmas can become giving and receiving presents. But it's not the gifts under the Christmas tree that really matter, it's the star that's on the top. In a dying world, that star represents our living Savior when he was born to bring salvation to all who will believe. And in today's message, Pastor Rex reminds us of the real "star" of Christmas in that old, familiar story of Christ's birth.

Why Jesus was Born
Pastor Steve Taylor E-mail Steve Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, Arizona Check out Steve's blog
There's a lot of talk about the what and the when, but do you ever wonder why Jesus was born? Do you know why he was called ' the Christ? ' Maybe you know he was called ' the Savior, ' but do you really know what he came to save us from? We know he was born to be a king, but do you realize that he came to serve? And if he will be the king, do you know where and when he will rule and reign? Is he ruling in your life now?
Luke 2:11; 1:32,33; Matthew 1:21; Jude 25; Mark 10:42-45; Psalm 2:1,2

The Star of the East
Pastor Hollis Partlowe
For many years, people have sought to find the answer to explain the star that the magi saw. Was it a meteorite? Was it a heavenly alignment? Or was it a miracle? In today's study, we examine the biblical record for clues to understanding the nature and appearance of the star of the east.
Matthew 2; 1:1-17; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25; Numbers 24:17; Micah 5:2

A Kingdom State of Mind
Pastor Dave Hixon E-mail Dave Brush Creek Church of God Tipp City, Ohio
When we look through the Bible at all of the records of Christ's teaching, we see a very specific label he gave to the gospel. The good news was about the Kingdom of God. And that's our hope. But it's easy to miss that message today. It's time to get back to a kingdom state of mind.

Jesus Brings Peace for our Wayward Souls
Pastor Alan Cain E-mail Alan Lawrenceville Church of God Springfield, Ohio
Peace is an elusive thing in our world. There are a lot of things that rob us of our peace. But Jesus brings us peace. It's a peace with our world, ourselves, and each other. And ultimately, he will bring peace to the world when he comes again.

Peace on Earth
Paul Rankin E-mail Paul Church of God, Faith of Abraham Cashmere, Washington
During the Christmas season, we often focus only on the birth of the child in Bethlehem. But that's only part of the story. We've a story to tell to the nations. It's a story of everlasting peace that is coming on earth. Are you sharing all of the parts of this wonderful story and the peace that Christ will bring?

The Shepherd's Story
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois
Somewhere outside of a little town in Judea was a group of shepherds experiencing just another day tending sheep. But suddenly, everything was about to change. A heavenly host of angels appeared to tell them the greatest news the world had ever heard. The Savior had been born, and they were told to go and see him. And once they heard and saw the news, they couldn't keep the story to themselves. What about us? Are we sharing the good news of salvation with the world around us?

The Other Miracle Birth
Pastor Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Piedmont, South Carolina
There were 400 silent years from the time the book of Malachi closed until the opening of the New Testament with the announcement and birth of John the Baptist. As we look at the other miracle birth, the nativity of John the Baptist, we see that Yahweh was at work all along preparing the world for his Son.

In the Fullness of Time
Pastor Hollis Partlowe
Our Eternal God created time, is unrestricted by time, and is always on time. Throughout the Old Testament, we read the Bible prophecies that told how, and even when, the Messiah would come. And when it was just the right time, God sent his only son to redeem the world to make adoption possible for us.
Galatians 4:4-7
