PROGRAMMING GUIDE
Thursday, November 22, 2012 - Thanksgiving (USA)
The Thanksgiving of God's Pilgrims
Pastor Hollis Partlowe At this season of the year, we turn our thoughts towards Thanksgiving. We remember the courage and faith of the Pilgrims who made their difficult voyage to America. We too are "Pilgrims" in this age. Like the Pilgrims, we cannot surrender our principles even under great persecution. We are on a journey to a promised land, and our great hope is life in a better country that is to come. And also like the Pilgrims, we have much thanksgiving to share because of all the ways that our God has blessed us.

Can Israel Survive?
Pastor Gordon Landry - 1978 Once again, Israel and the peace in the Middle East are back in the headlines. What's going to happen? Has God done away with Israel? Will God ever again have anything to do with this nation? Has God revoked his promises? What about the Arab and Jewish conflict? Can Israel survive? Pastor Landry reminds us what God has spoken through his prophets about this little nation in this relevant message from more than 30 years ago. Rom. 10:20-11:15; Matt. 27:22-25; Jer. 51:17-23; Zech. 12:1-8; Jer. 30:4-17; Zech. 14:1-4 Thankful for His Lavish Blessings
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois God has given His faithful many physical and spiritual blessings that we can enjoy today. And even when times are tough, we can thank our God for His lavish blessings. |

Israel in These Times
Pastor C.E. Randall Israel is God's covenant people in God's covenant land. The nation is the "apple of God's eye." Understanding Israel's place in the program, plan, and purpose of God also has great significance in the plan and purpose for each believer. In today's message, we examine Israel's place in history and its relationship to the nations today and what it has to do with the second coming of the Lord. Hos. 2; Ezek. 38:12; Judges 9:37; Eph. 2:12; John 4:22; Jer. 31:35-37; Rom. 15; 1 Cor. 10:10; Exo. 33:14; Psa. 85:8; Mal. 3; Isa. 61:6; 66:18,19; Zech. 8:20; Luke 21 In Everything, Give Thanks
Pastor Terry Ferrell E-mail Terry Greenville Church of God 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC It's natural to be thankful for good things, but as believers, we're told to give thanks in everything. Even when bad things happen to us, we can find a reason to be thankful. Often, God has already planned for something good to come out of the bad. In today's message, we look at some of the examples of God making a bad situation turn out good from some of the stories in the Bible. 1 Thess. 5:16-18; Gen. 45:7; Acts 5:41,42; Matt. 5:12; Rom. 5:3; 2 Cor. 12:10; James 1:2,3; 1 Pet. 4:12,13 |

Israel and Her Future
Pastor Kenneth Milne Did you ever notice how Israel always seems to make the news? Why does this little nation get such big publicity? In the end, who will help her? Has God forgotten His promises? Has God forsaken His people? In today's message, we examine the end-time prophecies regarding the restoration of Israel and how they are connected with the return of Christ. Zech. 8:1-8; 14:2-5; Isa. 11:1,2; 60:21; 2:3; Luke 21:24; Jer. 16:15; Ezek.26:24-28; Amos 9:14,15; Rom. 11 Paul's Thanksgiving and Prayer
Pastor Mike Montgomery E-mail Mike Guthrie Grove Church of God Pelzer, SC The apostle Paul was a man who had endured much for the gospel, but he still could find much to be thankful for. In his letter to the Ephesians, he reminds the church of three things: the hope we have in Jesus, the wealth and inheritance we have today and in the future, and the power of God that we are supplied as believers. |

Strength from Above
Pastor Bill Wachtel Sometimes, it's easier to think we can do things our way. Sometimes we think we even know how to do things a better way than God. We may think we are virtuous enough, or good enough, or strong enough on our own, but nothing we could ever do on our own could ever be enough to earn eternal life. But in that still, small voice we find strength. In standing still, and listening to God, he makes us stronger. So where does your strength come from? Mark 6:7-13; 30-32 Thankful for Life
Pastor Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois There's so much to be thankful for, but without life, there would no fun, freedom,or fulfillment. God designed and created and formed all life, but he specifically designed each person to enjoy life and live for Him. Even through all of life's difficulties, He promises us abundant life through His son. We have to live each day honoring life and living for Him. In today's message, we are reminded how great a gift life is and how we should respond to life in our daily living. |

The Answer to our Agnostic World
Pastor Hollis Partlowe We live in an age of worldwide darkness and unbelief. Some say God does not exist and that He cannot be known. But without God, we're without hope. How do we answer an unbelieving world? Eph. 2:12; 1 Cor. 1:18-30; Psa. 14:1-3; 10:4; 33:14; Jer. 9:23,24; Prov. 14:34; Rom. 1:18-32; Matt. 11:25; 1 Tim. 2:5; Acts 4:12; John 14:6; 10:1,10; Gal. 6:14 The Most Important Thing for you Today
Dr. Joe Martin E-mail Joe Atlanta Bible College McDonough, Georgia What is the most important thing for you today? Is it how you're spending your money? Is it your health? Is it war or a natural disaster? Or is it something more important? Do you know the One True God? How's you relationship with Him? Your answer is important. Turn, Turn, Turn
Pastor Mike Montgomery E-mail Mike Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Pelzer, SC The 80th Psalm is a communal petition attributed to Asaph. It's a psalm of restoration, revival, and renewal. It's a corporate cry for help from a nation that had turned its back on the Lord, but it also shows faithful expectation and assurance of God's answer to their plea. In our lives, often we can identify with the words of the Psalmist, and we need to return to our Father for His leading. Psalm 80; 2 Kings 17 I Know How the Story Ends
Pastor Jeff Fletcher Have you ever watched a movie or read a book where you already knew the ending? How did it change your thinking and perspective? Now fast forward to the end of your life. How does knowing the ending change your life today? Job 19:23; Heb. 11:17; Ezekiel 37; Daniel 12:2; John 5:19; John 11; 1 Thess. 4; 1 Cor. 15 |

Faith for Living in the World Today
Pastor Bruce Reye E-mail Bruce Chapel Hill Church of God Urbana, Ohio Watch or read the world news today, and all you'll hear about is doom and gloom. The times are tough, and sometimes when we're going through struggles, our faith can be tested. In today's message, we're reminded of the importance of applying our faith in our everyday lives to grow and strengthen our walk with God. Hebrews 11:1-6,39,40; Romans 1:17; 8:37,5-8; Joshua 6:1-5; Luke 5:4-6; Proverbs 3:5-7; James 2:14-17,20; Mark 11:24; Malachi 3:10; Psalm 118:24; 2 Timothy 4:7,8 Hope for Uncertain Times: The Power and Promise of Hope
Pastor Steve Taylor E-mail Steve Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, AZ Hope is the promise of something better in the future that's worth living for now. God has extended this great promise to us. If we earnestly want it, then there's no price too high. We have an assurance. We have a future. Let's respond in faith. Let's live like it so we can receive it when Jesus returns. Eph. 1:18; 1 John 3:3; 1 Thess. 5:8; Jer. 23:11,5,6; 33:15; Prov. 23:11; Acts 3:19-21; Isa. 9:6,7; Ezek. 36; 37:27; Dan. 2:44; 1 Thess. 1:2,3; Heb. 11:13; John 3:5; 1 Tim. 4:10 |

Freedom is not Free
Pastor Michael Cisler E-mail Michael North Kent Bible Church Rockford, Michigan We are blessed in America by the many who have sacrificed their lives to give us freedom. We are the recipients of their great sacrifice. But our freedom wasn't free. A great price was paid. As Christians, we have been set free as well. Jesus gave himself to purchase our freedom. Do we live like we're grateful? Gone with the Wind: The Surge and the Savior
Pastor Wally Winner Joy Fellowship Piedmont, SC The "surge" of trouble is nothing new to God's people. We are not immune to it. We're not promised an easy passage. But we are promised a safe landing. And in today's message, we focus on 7 ways God uses the surges in our lives to save us. 2 Cor. 1:8; 4:8,9; Psa. 34:19; 119:71; 71:19-21; 1 Cor. 10:13; Prov. 20:30; James 1:2,3,12; Gen. 50:20; Rom. 5:3,4; Php. 1:12; Isa. 40:31 |

"Middle-Class" Christians
Pastor Hollis Partlowe Many will never claim to be sinners, but they'll never dream to be "saints." They're "middle-class" Christians. They condemn both the sinner and the saint. They're lukewarm. But that's not what a real believer should look like. Christians should be the most joyful people in the world. We should be the most productive people in the world. We should be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. That's what God wants. And He wants us to tell others of the abundant life found only in Christ Jesus. Are we? Christ is knocking. Will we let him back into his church? Will we put him back into the middle of our lives? Psa. 132:9; 16:11; Php. 4:4; 1:6; John 15:11; Matt. 9:10; Rev. 3:15,16,20; Dan. 7:18,22,27; 1 Cor. 1:2-7; Rom. 1:7; Gen. 27:41-45; 32:24-31; Eph. 3:17; 1 John 3:2,3; 2 Cor. 3:18

![]() Faith for Our Times
Pastor Terry M. Ferrell Greenville Church of God 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC 29605 The days of Noah and of Lot were a very violent and evil age. Sadly, in our times today, we have seen many terrible changes in church, in school, and in our country that characterize our age. The value of human life is taken so lightly. We see the economic distress and the ever-increasing violence. How do we keep our faith? How do we endure? How do we make it? Hebrews 11:32-12:2 Would God Vote for Us? Pastor Wally Winner Joy Fellowship Piedmont, SC When we go to the polls, we choose government leaders based upon their past performance, their future plans, and their ability to lead. We want to know what the candidates believe on the issues. We want to know that their actions match their rhetoric. We want to know if they have a long-term record of making good decisions. But imagine if God entered a polling booth to vote, and instead of political candidates, He finds your name. How would your actions measure up to your speech? Would He vote for you based on the same criteria? It's something critical for us all to consider in today's message. |
