What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do
Pastor Steve Taylor   E-mail Steve   Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, AZ
Sometimes we don't know the right thing to do when our problems seem unsolvable.  When we face these difficulties and trials, what do we do?  In today's message,  we look at the words from the book of James for guidance as we learn what we should do.

Don't Trip Up
Pastor Scott Deane   Pleasant Hill Church of God  Pleasant Hill, Ohio
We will all face "stumbling blocks" in our lives, and sometimes, we get "tripped up."  But in today's message, we're reminded to walk in Christ.  Follow his footsteps.  Don't stumble.  Don't cause anyone else to stumble.  And when we do, we might need to take drastic action.  Sometimes radical "surgery" is necessary to save our lives.

The Wilderness Journey in Psalm 106
Pastor Terry Ferrell   E-mail Terry
Greenville Church of God, 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC 29605
In today's study from Psalm 106, we follow the story of the children of Israel following their escape from Egypt.  In it, we see that Israel's journey through the wilderness is a type of our Christian journey.  We're on the way to the Promised Land too, but we must learn from their failures.  We must not turn our back on our God.  He'll never forget his covenant, so let's not forget Him along our way.  And if we continue to walk in faith, one day we'll inherit the land that many of the children of Israel never made it to.

The Prophetic Present
Pastor Hollis Partlowe
Look in the newspaper, or watch 30 minutes of the news. You'll find out quickly this old world's not improving. Evil deeds and violence permeate our culture. Seeing all of these things might make you worry.  And yet, the Bible tells us to "rejoice?"  We don't rejoice in the evil, but we know the end is near.  A new age of peace and joy will soon be here. God's Messiah is coming again to establish his Kingdom on this earth, and our God has promised His people a place in this perfect Kingdom. And His promises are sure!

The Open Bible Pulpit:  Hosea - 1- Knowing God's Heart
Pastor Chuck Jones  E-mail Chuck   Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California
In this series by Pastor Chuck, we're examining the prophecy from the book of Hosea
(753 - 722 B.C). Though most of the prophecy was written regarding Israel's future, it's also relevant for our learning today.  In today's message, we learn that knowing God's heart is more than just knowing the facts. God is not just a "spare tire."  God wants, and will get, your undivided attention. And sometimes God shows his love by correcting us, but it's only because God wants the best for us.  Will you give your best for Him?

Pastor E. Richard Smith   1980

He Who Laughs Last
Pastor Bill Wachtel   1989
Believe it or not, there's quite a bit about laughter in the Bible.  Laughter is natural.  It's God-given.  The first recorded laugh in the Bible is from Abraham when he was told he was going to have a son.  And God even told him to name his son "Isaac," which literally means "laughter."  Sometimes we need to remember that joy.  We don't serve a gloomy, miserable God.  He wants us to enjoy life and share the joy of the Lord with the world around us.  So don't forget, he who laughs last, laughs loudest.

The Lyin' King
Pastor Wally Winner  E-mail Wally  Joy Fellowship  492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC
After the Lord gave Saul such a great military victory, you would think that the first king of Israel would have remembered to obey all of the instructions.  But he didn't.  He thought it better to take a few "trophies" along the way.  He even went so far as to erect a monument for himself.  But when Samuel finally caught up with Saul, it was too late.  Though King Saul had partially obeyed, he had partially disobeyed.  And partial obedience equals disobedience.  So what about us?  Are we fully obeying God's instructions for our lives - or are we living in disobedience?

Our Future Hope
Pastor Michael Cisler  E-mail Michael   North Kent Bible Church Rockford, Michigan
Are you so consumed by the problems of today that you're missing the big picture? God
has plans and a future for those who belong to Christ. And Jesus is coming back. Because
Jesus has been raised, we are promised victory over death and sin. We're promised a
perfect body and a perfect life in a perfect world to come. So let's keep our perspective.
We need to stand firm, and let nothing move us.

Where There is Forgiveness of Sin, There is no Offering for Sin
Pastor Mark DeYoung E-mail Mark    Blanchard Church of God  Blanchard, MI
Christ paid for our sins one time for all time, but what happens if we continue willfully in habitual sins?  In today's passage, we are reminded that continually living in sin can and will keep us out of the Kingdom of God.  We have to hold fast to our faith.  We can't give in.  And we need to continually "provoke" each other to live in righteousness.

Worshiping God in "Spirit and Truth"
Pastor Terry Ferrell   E-mail Terry
Greenville Church of God, 217 White Oak Road, Greenville, SC 29605
In today's Bible passage, Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that "God is spirit," but in what way is God a "spirit?"  Does God have both reality and personality? Does God have His own image?  And how can and should we worship Him in "spirit and truth?"  What does that mean?  As we study, we are reminded that it's not the place we worship, it's how we worship.  And He expects us to worship Him properly.

Pastor Z.B. Duncan  10-21-1984
How can you be ready for the return of Christ if you're not living for Christ today? How can you be living for Christ if you're still living in sin? In today's radio program, Pastor Duncan stirs us to live day-by-day for Christ and in Christ, keeping God in all of our thoughts in this troubled world.

Where the Fire Has Been
Pastor John Railton  E-mail John   Family Bible Church Granger, Indiana
There are really two sides to the gospel: the good news, and for some, the bad news. God has decreed and promised that he will execute his judgment upon all the people who reject His only way. But when we stand at the cross, we can escape the flames. Will you stand where the fire has been?

Overcoming the Overwhelming
Pastor Mark DeYoung E-mail Mark    Blanchard Church of God  Blanchard, MI
We all go through stressful times in our lives, but we have an everlasting God who comforts and strengthens us.  Sometimes we seem to forget.  But God has designed us to soar.  Will we?  Will we become what God has made us to be?

Forces that make Character
Pastor Terry Ferrell   E-mail Terry

In today's message, we examine the three forces that make us who we are.  We are born, in part, we are made, in part, and partly, we make ourselves.  And when we recognize the forces that make our character, we can better build our lives on the right foundation.

Forgetting Our First Love
Pastor Dan Cain  E-mail Dan  Troy View Church of God  Troy, Ohio
Do you remember the passion you felt when you first fell in love?  Do you remember all of the little things you used to do?  Why did you stop?  Have your feelings begun to fade?  It just seems to happen that way in marriage, and if we're not careful, it can also become like that in our walk with Jesus.  In today's message, we're reminded that we're the bride of Christ.  He loves us with a great passion.  He gave himself for us.  Will you give yourself for him?  Or has your love slowly faded?

After many years of sacrificial service, Samuel was upset with Israel.  They demanded a king.  He felt rejected, but He wasn't alone.  God told Samuel that the children of Israel had really rejected their Heavenly Father.  In today's message, we see three ways that we, like Samuel, can and should respond.

A Glimpse of God's Plan
Pastor Kenneth Milne
God's plan is revealed from the beginning to the end within His holy word.  It is our map through this life and prepares us for life in the age to come.  His plan is perfect and His purpose of the ages is accomplished through His only begotten son.  And through Jesus, we too can become a part of His perfect plan.

Keeping Your Lamp Lit
Pastor E. Richard Smith   1983
In the beginning of Matthew 25, we read about "the parable of the 10 virgins."  All of the maidens were waiting for the bridegroom to come.  They all fell asleep.  They all had oil.  But they weren't all prepared.  The wait took longer than expected, and 5 of the women ran out of oil. When the bridegroom did arrive, they weren't ready.  Will that be us?  We're anticipating the return of Jesus to this earth, but what if he doesn't arrive as soon as we hope?  Will the "oil" still be burning in our lives, or will our lamps burn out?  We need to remember that when Jesus came the first time, many who were anticipating the Messiah weren't prepared.  When he comes again, will you be ready?

The Power of Fasting and Prayer - Part Two
Pastor Mark DeYoung E-mail Mark    Blanchard Church of God  Blanchard, MI
As believers, we should be spending lots of time in prayer.  We even discuss prayer frequently.  But we often neglect to talk about the power of fasting.  As we continue looking at the power of fasting and prayer, we examine two great examples from the life of the apostle Paul and with Jehosaphat and the people of Judah.  Pastor Mark reminds us that God is just as powerful today as he was then, and our Heavenly Father is waiting for us to surrender.  Will you join with God?

What if...I Want to be Saved?
Pastor Steve Taylor   E-mail Steve   Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, AZ
Some churches are better at salesmanship in the "salvation business" than others, but does salvation really depend on how persuasive we are?  What's salvation all about anyway?  What's it mean to be "saved?"  What if I want to be saved?  In today's message, we're reminded what salvation is really all about.  It's confession and belief in Christ, but it's even more.  It's also an active, ongoing obedience to our Lord Jesus.  And if we really believe it, then we need to share the good news of salvation with a world that's in need of being saved.

The Time of the End
Pastor Terry Ferrell   E-mail Terry

In today's message taken from the last chapter of the prophet Daniel's book, we examine the "time of the end." We read that transportation, communication, and information will be increased like never before. But we also see that evil will be increasing as righteousness is decreasing. Could today be the very time of the end? Are we living in the last days? How can we know?  Are you watching the signs?

Do You Believe What You Believe?
Pastor Hollis Partlowe
When Jesus began and concluded his public ministry, he gathered his disciples around him and commissioned them to disciple the nations.  It's what he commanded them to do.  It's what he expected them to do.  As his disciples today, we have the same mission. But it's not just enough to believe what Jesus taught, we also have to be what Jesus taught.  And if we're going to impact our society like they did, we need to have the same 3 characteristics in evidence that we'll learn about in today's study.

Pastor Chuck Jones  E-mail Chuck
Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California
How does the world define success? Is it being famous? Possessions? Wealth? Power? Go to any bookstore, and that's what you'll find.  But that's not how God defines success.  He doesn't care about how famous you become, He cares about how faithful you become. In today's message, we focus in on how God has equipped us, and what it really means to have true "success" as a disciple of Christ.

Ebenezer (not Scrooge)
Pastor Wally Winner  E-mail Wally  Joy Fellowship  492 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC
The people of Israel had conquered much of the Promised Land, but it hadn’t been easy. Times had been hard, but the prophet Samuel reminded them that it would never be any better until they turned to God. At Mizpah, the nation gathered in prayer to seek God’s blessing again. Just at that moment, the Philistine army saw an opportunity to attack, but they were turned back in defeat. A great victory for Israel! To mark the occasion, Samuel raised a memorial marker and gave the marker a name. He called it "Ebenezer," a term that meant “Thus far has the LORD helped us."  And He did.  And He has helped us too.  Will you raise your "Ebenezer" to remind you of God's hand in your life?

No matter how we may romanticize it, love "ain't" easy.  It's tough.  It's tough putting others first.  It wasn't easy for God either.  He loved us so much he gave His only son.  And when we learn to love like Him, we can truly share His love with others.

__What if...I Get the Right Focus?
Pastor Steve Taylor   E-mail Steve   Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, Arizona
When our eyes aren't focused right, it can be hard to see anything.  That's how it can be as a follower of Jesus.  As his disciples, we need to have the right kind of sight.  We need to seek the things above, focusing our mind on eternal things.  We need to focus on Jesus and on what Jesus focuses on.  In today's message, we learn what that looks like when we really live a focused life.
