Trivializing the Gospel: Turf Wars Chuck Jones E-mail Chuck Church of the Open Bible Pomona, California
Understanding and believing the Gospel of the Kingdom brings life, but has it changed yours? Are we trivializing the Gospel? In today's message, we examine how in-fighting and a critical spirit within the church can trivialize the Gospel and how we can be on guard against the dissension and division when we fight among each other.
Galatians 5:19-21; Matthew 12:30; 1 John 3:10; Romans 16:17,18

The Covenant with David Bill Wachtel
In last week's message, we looked at the inheritance promised to and through Abraham. This week, we examine the second man mentioned in the New Testament, King David. Why is he so important? What can the promises made to David and his throne tell us about Jesus, and what does that mean to us? Find out the significance of the covenant made with David in today's study.

In today's program, Sean taps into Richard's forensic background as we examine how to discern biblical doctrine from tradition and deception. God Sees Your Hidden Potential Mark DeYoung E-mail Mark Blanchard Church of God Blanchard, Michigan
When we first meet Gideon, he was hiding. He was afraid of Israel's enemies. But God saw a mighty warrior. Gideon looked like a coward, but God saw his courage. God had big plans for this unlikely man to lead a little army to great victory. God has big plans for you too if you'll listen. What potential does God see in you? Are you listening? Will you step out in faith?

Mountain-Moving Faith: Hebron Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship Church of God Piedmont, South Carolina
It had been 45 years since Joshua and Caleb had spied out the land. And though they were now in the Promised Land, there were still unconquered areas. And Caleb was 85 years old now, but he still remembered the promise that God had made. When asked, Caleb said that he wanted the mountain of Hebron, and he knew that God would fight with him. And in his bold request, we learn a valuable lesson about our faith and claiming the promises that God has given us.
Joshua 14:6-15; Psalm 12:1,2

Wet-Foot Commitment Steve Taylor E-mail Steve Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, Arizona
We often talk about someone "getting their feet wet," or someone "jumping in with both feet." In today's story, we may think about these phrases in a different way. As we continue following the Israelites on their way to claim the Promised Land, we stop with them on the banks of the Jordan River. Crossing the water stood between them and the possession of the territory. In the 3 key commands they were given, we find application for us. Maybe it's time for you to make a "wet-foot commitment," and take those first steps of faith.

It Wasn't Just Graffiti Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois
We've all heard the phrase, "the handwriting is on the wall." It's a phrase that we use when we can tell that something's about to happen. The phrase originates from the literal handwriting on the wall that Daniel was able to interpret for the king in ancient Babylon. And in today's story from long ago, we find some valuable lessons for living today.

What Good is Jesus without His Gospel? Anthony Buzzard Restoration Fellowship Fayetteville, Georgia
At the beginning of the ministry of the Jesus, we are told that he came preaching and teaching the good news of the Kingdom of God. And throughout his ministry, he never stopped talking about the coming Kingdom. After his resurrection and before his ascension, he taught for another 40 days regarding the Gospel of the Kingdom. And Christ told his disciples to go everywhere preaching and teaching all that he had taught them. But somewhere along the way, many Christians have overlooked the central theme of Jesus. In today's study, we re-examine the faith and the focus of Jesus to rediscover the Gospel message.

Are we putting a veil over the eyes of the unsaved by coming up short ourselves? As we begin our look at the 11 ways we trivialize the Gospel, maybe it's time to do some self-investigating so we can strengthen our witness and our willingness to share the message.

Have you ever done all of the work only for someone else to take the credit for it? Have you ever come up with a great idea only for someone else to steal it and get all the glory? As we look at the prayer that Jesus actually prayed before his disciples, we are reminded to give God all the glory and all the credit in all we do and accomplish for Him and to be sanctified and unified as the body of Christ.

Welcome Home Jeff Fletcher E-mail Jeff Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith Pelzer, South Carolina
We've probably all heard the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15. A father gives his son all the selfish things he wants, and then sadly watches him go out into the world. But the father waits each day for his son to come back home. And when his son finally returns, there's a celebration. It's that way with our loving Heavenly Father. As we hear the story of Captain Bob and Rudy, we are reminded that God is waiting. And He doesn't care nearly as much about where we've been, and what got us dirty, but only that we've come home.

Is Peace on Earth Possible? Michael Hoffman E-mail Michael Oregon Church of God Oregon, Illinois

Walk the Plank Jake Ballard 2-12-2011 ABC "Go Serve" Team
We've all been told "not to judge" others, but how many of us are following Christ's instructions? Do we really want to be judged in the same way we judge others? Are we just walking around looking at the 'specks' in our neighbors' eyes while we're overlooking the 'planks' in our own eyes? As Christians, we first have to begin by judging our own lives, and once we "walk the plank," then we're ready to start helping our neighbors see more clearly the love Christ has shown to us.

Claiming the Territory Steve Taylor E-mail Steve Lakeshore Bible Church Tempe, Arizona
Joshua was called on to fill incredibly big shoes. After the death of Moses, Joshua was given the task of moving the Israelite people into the occupied territory of the Promised Land. It was time to cross over the Jordan as the people of God to claim the territory God had promised. It's the same with us. God is faithful. He won't fail us. He has made us promises. Will you tremble, or will you claim them?

Defining Victory: The Finish Line Wally Winner E-mail Wally Joy Fellowship Church of God Piedmont, South Carolina

Who is Jesus in Hebrews 1 ? Anthony Buzzard Restoration Fellowship Fayetteville, Georgia
For centuries, Christians have debated the origin of Jesus, but any study of the nature of Christ must take in the whole range of biblical evidence. In today's passage, we examine more thoroughly a text often used to prove the pre-existence of Jesus as a member of the Godhead. Did Jesus pre-exist as God in heaven before he came to earth? Is that what the Bible teaches? Find out the truth today.

Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Hollis Partlowe
Christians have a yesterday, today, and tomorrow because we have a Savior who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Christians also experience these three phases of salvation. We have a yesterday that was filled with sin before Christ. We live in faith today as we are being saved from the power of sin, and we will be saved from the very presence of sin in God's tomorrow. And entrance into the joy of God's tomorrow is worth whatever sacrifices we have to make today.

"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Because Jesus Loved Us John Lewis
Have you ever wondered what Jesus was thinking about in the hours of suffering and agony before his crucifixion? What would our thoughts be if we were falsely accused, falsely convicted, and sentenced to death? Usually, when man is in his greatest sorrow, his real strength and character become evident. But when Jesus was in his greatest sorrow, he said, "Love." He showed his love. And, in fact, he commanded us to love like he loved us. It is how we are known. It's not easy. It's not common. It's Christian.

The Greatest of These is Love James Ritch
We can be many things and possess many things, but without love, we are nothing. That's what the Apostle Paul writes. And isn't it so true? We look for love in so many of the wrong things in this world, but we run from God's everlasting love. And yet, even while we are sinners, God never stops loving us. Are you looking for love? Why won't you look to God?
